My Background & Approach
I began clinical work in 2010 as a crisis counselor and court advocate in Denver. In 2014, I moved to North Carolina to complete a PhD in sociology, researching how life experience shapes values and worldview. That work drew my attention to men's mental health and to the gap in care for that population. I completed my clinical degree shortly after.
In session, I draw on my research background to understand each client's perspective, clarify their values, and support change. I am a lifelong student, trained in ACT at SouthLight Healthcare and UNC-Chapel Hill, with ongoing study in neuroscience, integrative health, and existential psychotherapy. I am a member of the American Philosophical Practitioners Association, the Academy for Eating Disorders, and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.
Outside of sessions, I do Spanish language exchange, writing workshops, running, cycling, film, and art.
